It was such a treat photographing Jolandi, Pieter and little Nina. Jolandi and I went to the same preprimary school in Caledon and I still remember one specific day that we were hiding little “treasures” everywhere. Our treasures were mostly stones and leaves, but we decided that years later we would go back and find it again. I think the memory of that fun day is the treasure now…and seeing Jolandi and Pieter with little Nina is the jackpot. She is beautiful and even though she was sooo tired during the first part of the shoot, she was still so cute and friendly!

Hierdie het regtig meer soos ‘n kuiertjie gevoel as ‘n shoot! Brendon en Melissa is van Johannesburg, was paar dae in die Kaap en ek het hulle in ‘n vakansiebui gevang. Van lekker roomys eet, tot hardloop in die sand en geheime in mekaar se ore fluister. Later die jaar neem ek hulle troue in Johannesburg af. Nou wat ek hulle bietjie beter leer ken het, sien ek sommer nog meer uit daarna! Geniet julle foto’s Melissa en Brendon! Was regtig een heerlike middag saam met julle.

Ag man, waar begin ek met Veronique en Gerhard? Hulle was so opgewonde dit was sommer bitterlik aansteeklik! Hulle dag was pragtig in vele opsigte. Van die aantrek, hoe hulle vir mekaar kyk tot by die lekker saam dans en kuier. Maar eintlik wil ek dit nie spoil met my woorde nie. Ek het sommer lekker baie foto’s gepost. (:
Beide ek en Jaco le Roux was fotograwe by hulle troue. Was heerlik om in ‘n span met hom te werk! Maak ook seker om na Veronique se werk te gaan kyk! Sy is ook ‘n fotograaf, maar vir nou, was dit haar beurt om met HAAR prins te trou.
Dankie Gerhard en Veronique dat julle 2 so awesome was! Ek was nog nooit so hartlik dankie gese by ‘n troue nie. Ek dra dit saam in my hartjie. GENIETTTTTTT julle foto’s!

Ek ken vir Loudina al ‘n hele paar jaar. Sy en my broer het wilde waters aangedurf toe hulle saam met ‘n eienaar van ‘n seilboot van die kus van USA tot iewers in Europa gevaar het. Sy is een van daardie mense vir jou inspireer om soms goed “sommer net” te doen…want mens kan. (En eendag gaan sy nog vir my ‘n cello les gee, want ek dink my hart en die insturment se snare is een en dieselfde.)
Arjan en Loudina se troue was nes hulle as couple. Hulle het sommer ‘n buite piekniek en ‘n “binne onthaal” gehad. Hulle het voor en na die diens fotos geneem. Hulle het lekker baie gelag. En Loudina het sommer self haar rok gemaak…want hulle kan!
En dit was heerlik! Dankie Arjan en Loudina. Julle is ‘n awesome couple en ek sien nog uit na lekker kuiers. GENIET julle kiekies!

Ek geniet dit so om te sien hoe elke couple hulle unieke “flavour” het! Hank en Twané is so n gentle en caring couple. Twané was die hele dag vol smiles en Henk het sommer net gelukkig gelyk om aan Twané se sy te wees.

I have a Nikki-friend that always puts a smile in your day. (And i know she does it though her photography as well!!!!)
And a Kappie-friend that makes you feel like a friends after the first time you meet.
They have a little dog called Clara. She is awesome too.
Put them all together and it’s VERY difficult not to have a good time. (Like it was on their wedding day too)

Judith and Bart is such a unique couple. They made their wedding totally their own and enjoyed it with friends and family – all from abroad! It was awesome spending time with them and there was so much laughter at this wedding, I’m sure each and every guest had a ball of a time.

Henk was my 2nd year photography lecturer at Stellenbosch Academy of Design and Photography back in 2006. I think i quickly met Lize, his wife that year as well. Now, a few years later, I consider them to be my friends. (you might remember them from their family shoot we did back in 2009.) They are gentle people that love nature….and their family! We did this shoot at their new house in Stellenbosch.

Sjoeweeeeee! Hierdie was weer een groot fees van begin tot einde! Jay-Cee en Chani is gaande oor mekaar en mekaar se geselskap. Ek het paar keer my kepabel gelag vir die 2. Chani se rok was vir my ongelooflik mooi en in kombinasie met haar lang swart hare het sy maar net te mooi gelyk!
Hulle onthaal is in Hertex Bellville se coffee shop, Treat gehou, ‘n eerste vir die fabric store/coffee shop! Jay-Cee en Chani het net die mense heel naaste aan hulle genooi. Die kos en decor is eenvoudig, maar stylvol gehou en dit was alles sooooo lekker en ontspanne.
Dankie Jay-Cee en Chani vir so ‘n lekker dag waarin ek kon deel. Hoop julle love julle kiekies so baie soos ek daarvan gehou het om julle af te neem!!!

Carinus en Eljo is soos ‘n hand en ‘n handskoen. Soos die karoo en ‘n windpomp. Soos Sushi en soya sous. Mens kon dit sommer al in hulle verlowingsfoto’s sien.

I cannot really remember exactly how we decided on this, but i was sooooo keen on doing it! Natalie and Ruhan had a morning wedding, so we only did their couple shoot after the wedding…so we could go crazy! It was super cold and windy by the time we were done with PART ONE, (click on it to see) so this part of the shoot did not last all that long, but was so worth it! THANKS to a very brave Natalie and Ruhan for going with the crazy ideas after a long and awesome day. Enjoy!

Mensig die wind het gewaai! Maar dis nie wat mens sal onthou van die dag nie. Ek is nie eintlik seker waar om te begin nie.
Die mooi bruid…of die gesellige groep gaste…natalie se rok…Ruhan se speech…die manier wat hy haar vashou…die sushi? Alles was deel van dit. Ruhan en Natalie, ek weet julle is al weer terug in die koue Frankryk. Ek hoop julle het ‘n feeeees van ‘n tyd soos julle deur die kiekies gaan. Dit was regtig ‘n bitter spesiale dag saam met die mense wie julle lief-het.

I asked Karlien about 3 times if she was sure that she knew that I’ve never officially done a model shoot…but Karlien decided that she wanted to use me…so i thought…lets go for it! And that was what we did and it was soooo much fun! I’m not sure who slept the best that evening – myself, Karlien or our awesome model! I’ve learned so much from this shoot. Thanks Karlien for blindly believing in me and allowing me to shoot your super clothing range and for Anndrea for all your patience and great attitude.

It was so much fun documenting this day! Oliver and Erika are super relaxed and it looks like they are best friends. They know each other from a very young age… Their story in a nutshell according to Erika:
“We were in the same junior school but did not get on at all and I still have a scar on my arm from where Oliver stabbed me with a pencil! We only re-met five years ago, when he was aiming to study psychology, and on seeing me for the first time in fifteen years he offered me free pscychology sessions to compensate for that childhood trauma.”
