I was so “pleasantly overwhelmed” to hear that I received a bronze and 2 silwer awards at the sony pro photo awards. I actually did not even know until 2 days afterwards. I see myself as a farm girl that got a photography talent, and just loves shooting. A lot of you guys mail and encourage me so often. I appreciate that. Sometimes people see my work with different eyes. I know in my heart what I want to say with my photos, but am not always sure what people see in my “body of work.” Maybe that is also why I enjoy the comments so much. I think the funniest one of all time is:

“Jy neem fotos soos wat ‘n John Deere kan ploeg. ‘n Moerse kompliment so by the way!” -Thanks for that!

If you are a photographer, you should definitely enter the competition next year. It was really great to go through a year’s work and recap, learn, think about it, adjust etc etc.
