So you have met MG and Tjaart, but here is one of my 2 sisters, Annelle! (Ok stepsister, but actually i do think we rrrrrreally are sisters, ok!?)
Annelle is one of the kindest, warmest, big-hearted girls I’ve ever met. There is not much of a chance of something like personal space with her; she jumps right into your heart. She has listened to endless stories and challenges of mine while sitting in the bath. We’ve shared many tears, she has made me laugh like only a sister can and is always-always-always willing to listen.
To be in BJ’s and Annelle’s company, is pure joy. And i cannot wait for their wedding! I will be walking down the isle (as a bridesmaid) too. #superexcited!
Geniet julle kiekies! Dit was so ‘n lekker middag saam met die 2 van julle. Ons maak weer so op julle 50ste huweliksherdenking, ok!

The previous time I saw Matthew and Suraya was when they came so SA for their honeymoon in April 2010. They live in London, very close to the well known Paddington Station. Suraya is originally from Singapore. For their honeymoon shoot, we drove around in Cape Town, photographing them at different landmarks like the Bo-Kaap, Blouberg and Simonstown. (View the shoot HERE.) This time around, it was in London…with a little baby on it’s way! I stayed with Matthew and Suraya for 2 days and I don’t think anyone has every spoiled me as much. When i arrived, Suraya cooked us a traditional English meal with roast, Yorkshire-pudding and all! They also made me a hamper with snacks like Butterscotch sweets, tea from Harrods and Shortbread cookies. We went to the famous Portobello Market, Windsor, Harrods, Tower bridge and much more. We planned one “official” shoot in the most beautiful old market, Leadenhall Market. This space has been used in movie scenes and i can just see why. The rest of the time we just had fun and photographed wherever we went.
Matthew and Suraya, what a privilege to photograph you in London. Thank you so much for spoiling me, taking me to all these places that i’ve only seen on postcards and just being awesome to be around! And Suraya, as you said, hopefully we get to see each other again…when you are having a holiday in SA! I hope you enjoy these images as much as i enjoyed taking them. Lots and lots of blessings for you as a (soon to be) family.

Monique was saam met my Caledon in die skool en dit was sooooo lekker om haar man, Eugene, ook bietjie beter te leer ken.
Hulle het die “sjokolade fontuin” gehuur en oits, niemand van ons was na die shoot meer lus vir sjokolade nie! Dit was vinger-lek-lekker. Ons het so gelag vir Eugene toe dit wind opkom. Dit het die sjokolade die wereld vol gewaai en Eugene het so hard probeer om dit te keer. Op die ou-end was Eugene en Monique so sjokolade-besmeerd dat Monique eers weer moes gaan make-up op-touch.
Die hondjies was ‘n heerlike “props” maar o wee, daardie swarte was sooooo donker dat as ek nie spesifiek vir hom expose het nie, hy net as ‘n swart blaps uitgekom het.
Dankie Eugene en Monique. Ek het darem die helfde van die sjokolade se kilojoules uit gelag deur die shoot!

Neil het vir Marietjie gevra om te trou hoog in die berg by Jonkershoek. Hulle het gaan bergfiets ry en Niel het voorraf met ‘n (obviously baie goeie en gewillige) vriend gereel om
die piekniek daar “op te stel” vir hulle.
Dis die wat Niel en Marietjie besluit het om hulle verlowing fotos in die mooie Jonkershoek natuur-reservaat te laat neem.
Dit was waarlik ‘n middag van lekker lag…en vinnig ry om voor “hek-sluit-tyd” uit by die park te wees.

Dis was vir my sooooo lekker om vir Jacobus en Gloudette te ontmoet. Hulle is sulke gentle mense en dit het sommer net automaties die hele shoot “deurtrek!” Dit maak my ekstra opgewonde dat ek Jacobus en Gloudette se troue gaan afneem. Wat ‘n voorreg!?

Woweee! I love walking around with my camera and a super relaxed couple, just shooting wherever we feel like/where the light works/where I want to try something. I think we ended up using only one of the originally planned spots!

Stiaan en Zanelle is so opgewonde oor hulle eerste babatjie wat oppad is! Hierdie laat middag het gevlieg terwyl ons geneem het! Sommer in die huis, net buite die huis, af in die pad, in die veldjie en op met die berg. Dit was so lekker om die 2 bietjie te leer ken en ek kan net dink dat goeie tye as ‘n familie vir hulle voorle. Blessings Zanelle en Stiaan en geniet die foto’s!

Ek het so ‘n lekker middag saam met Ryno en Suzahne gehad op Clifton! Lag en speel was volop en Ryno en Suzahne is so ‘n rustige, natuurlike couple. Ek neem hulle troue af bietjie later die jaar en is gaande wanneer ek die couple voor die troue bietjie beter kan leer ken. Dankie dankie dankie Ryno en Suzahne! Sien julle weer een van die dae!

Attie en Nicole vier nou die 19de Desember hulle eerste huweliksherdenking! Hulle is van daardie couples wie se liefde van diep binne uitstraal. Dis lekker om tyd met hulle te spandeer, want dit voel of ietsie van wie hulle is afvryf op ‘n mens. Sjoe, dankie dat ek julle kon afneem Attie en Nicole! André en Merel het my al ‘n paar maande terug gese dat hulle graag sal wil fotos neem. Hulle is in Nederland getroud ‘n paar maande terug (Merel is van daar) en het nou net vir die pelle weer ‘n get together gehou in SA. (André kom oorspronklik van SA.) Hulle wou graag hier ook foto’s neem en het my gevra om ‘n spot te kry. Oppad na ‘n ander shoot het ek hierdie rooi gehuggie gewaar. Sjoe! Het dit nog nie vrooer gesien nie. Die oggend van die shoot het ek deur gery na die plaas om by die boer uit te vind of dit ok sal wees as ons daar shoot. Hy’t vir ons vriendelik toestemming gegee en ook gewaarsku dat dit nog in die week afgebreek gaan word! Sjoe, ek was sooooo bly ons kon dit nog gebruik!

Sjoe! Al weer ‘n heeeeeeerlike middag! Tertius en Annél is al teen die tyd ‘n mamma en pappa en is soooo nuuskierig om te sien hoe die kleinding lyk! Net jammer hulle woon nie in die Kaap nie! Annél moes afkom vir werk en toe maak hulle dit sommer ‘n mini-vakansie so voor hulle oornag in ‘n gesin verander het.

After an awesome 3 weeks of almost doing nothing but fun stuff, I am back for the new season and somehow feel very excited about it! There are loads of new people to meet and lots of new photos to take!
This shoot was the first of the season and once again, what a way to start! Charlotte is a friend of mine and the master behind the design of my website! I am very sad that I will not be able to attend their wedding, but keep your eyes on the blog of their excellent photographer, Du Wayne Denton!
For the shoot we literally just drove to Cape Town and went wherever we wanted to go! Carlo could not stop talking about how much he hated posing, but in the end we had so much fun, he forgot all about his fears. If there is one thing that stands out in their relationship, it would be we way they can laugh together. It was so much fun with the 2 of you!

Alles was so lekker hierdie dag! (Ok, miskien nie die traffic deur Kalkbaai nie.) Dit was my eerste shoot in Noordhoek, dit was ‘n treat om vir Sarel en Mariëtte af te neem en by tye met die shoot het dit gevoel of ek terug in USA is! So dankie Sarel en Mariëtte, ek kan nie wag vir julle troue nie!!!

Matthew and Suraya were telling me about their wedding that was held in Singapore, and it sounded like a spectacular event! After all the planning and events, they decided they want to come to South Africa for their honeymoon. Neither of them have been to SA and we decided to do a road trip/shoot around Table Mountain. They only 3 places that was a must, was the Bo-Kaap and the penguins at Simonstown and something with table mountain in the back. So, stocked with Biltong and Koeksisters, we started off in the Bo-Kaap, went to Signal Hill, drove along Llandudno, Houtbaai, Chapmens Peak, Simonstown and then our final sunset destination, Blouberg with table mountain in the back. It was such a fun day with mr. Biltong and mrs. Koeksister!
I find it hard that we will probably never see each other again! But, here is the evidence of our little tour. (I felt like a real tour guide!)

There is a way in which Meg and Micheal look at each other that I love. It shows not only love, but also respect. Meg had all these awesome ideas for the shoot…and then i found out that she is an photographer too! No wonder! Thanks Meg and Michael, I had a great afternoon with the 2 of you!
